Michal Zapal
My name is Michał Zapał. I was born in Lublin, a city in the south-east Poland. I started my adventure with fly fishing 22 years ago. In my neighborhood, there are small rivers with trout and grayling and this is where I caught the first fish on my own flies. As the time went by, my interests related to the world of fly fishing became a great passion and a lifestyle. I spend all of my free time fishing. I am trying to choose new and unfamiliar fisheries. It is thanks to the fly fishing trips and discovering fantastic places that my fly fishing fascination intensifies. Fly tying is also an integral part my life. It is an activity that I have been performing from the very beginning of my adventure with fly fishing and at some point it has also become my way of earning money. A few years ago, me and my fiancee established a project “Live 4 Fly Fishing”, which quickly grew into a small family business. Today, we tie flies for anglers around the world. We also stock shops with fly tying materials that we prepare and sell under L4FF trademark. Thousands of hours spent by the favorite rivers in Poland and Slovakia, along with fishing competitions enriched me with experience that are invaluable in my next activity, guiding. We organise individual expeditions for anglers around the world who want to give it a try in Poland and Slovakia.
