I grew up in West Michigan with a real love for the outdoors. After guiding in Alaska at Katmai Lodge for a few years, I returned to Michigan to the streams that I love. Among these, the Pere Marquette is my favorite. I now live close to this great river, in the town of Baldwin. I became a professional guide in 1998, and fishing still remains a real passion to me. I guide year round for Trout, Salmon and Steelhead on the Pere Marquette, Muskegon and White River. My favorite technique is swinging flies for Steelhead with Switch and Spey rods. I have used a lot of fly reels over the years and think Hatch reels are the best I have ever used. They have never failed me even in some of Michigan’s coldest harshest Steelheading weather. They continue to outperform any other reel.
