Doug guides throughout the summer months in Montana for the Yellowstone Angler, sharing his passion for fly fishing with anglers of all skill levels and abilities. During the rest of the season, he works in the Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures saltwater office, where he assists the traveling angler personally meet plenty of Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon. Clinically obsessed with fishing at a young age, he is a twenty year veteran of guiding, running successful fly shops and guide operations, tying good flies, and regularly harassing large fish with a fly rod. He grew up in Pennsylvania and learned to fly fish a variety of water. From small natives to big river fish, famously technical spring creeks, Smallmouth Rivers, and Northeast Salt, all were just a short drive away. Eventually, Doug moved out west and spent a couple of summers inside Yellowstone Park, with stints in Wyoming, Maine and Texas, fishing as he went. Doug now calls Livingston, Montana home launch pad for fishing adventures across the street or down south in skinny water flats. He is a fly designer for Umpqua and has many unique and creative patterns to his credit. He is also a talented up and coming artist focused on capturing the beauty of fish and places with oil paint. His writing, fly patterns, photography and art have been featured in many publications such as Fly Fisherman, The Drake, Midcurrent, Outdoor Life, and others.
