Devin Burton

Growing up in Casper, Wyoming, the outdoors has been a part of my life from the beginning. I’ve been fishing the North Platte since I was 7 years old. My grandfather guided on the Platte and in Alaska through the 80s and 90s, and along with my dad, he passed down a deep respect for hunting, fishing, and the lifestyle that comes with it. Whether we were chasing bugling bulls in the mountains, catching big trout close to home, or jigging walleyes at local lakes, it didn’t take long before the outdoors became more than a hobby — it became a way of life.

I followed in my grandfather’s footsteps and turned that passion into a career. I’ve been with Ugly Bug Fly Shop for 10 years and currently serve as head guide. As much as I enjoy putting clients on fish, what means the most to me are the relationships built over the years and the returning guests who come back season after season. Watching those friendships grow is one of the best parts of the job.

At the end of the day, I simply enjoy being outside. I care deeply about the resource, the fishery, and making sure future generations get to experience the same things I did growing up here in Wyoming.
