Carson Oldham

A native of Southeast Florida, Carson developed his love for the outdoors and fishing at an early age. If he was not chasing monster bass in Lake Okeechobee, he could be found fishing the Boca inlet, the inter-coastal behind his house or running the beach for anything he could entice.

At age 13 Carson moved with his family to the San Luis Valley Colorado, where he quickly realized it was time to trade in the bass and saltwater gear for a fly rod. That was three decades ago and Carson has never looked back. He cut his flyfishing teeth on rivers such as the Arkansas, San Juan and many high-country lakes and creeks. Since then he has spent many years living and fishing in the Sangre de Cristo, Great Smoky Mountains, and has spent the last 15 years calling Charlottesville, Va on the east slope of the Blue Ridge his home. When asked why Carson has chosen to settle in Charlottesvile, his answer is, ” It’s a beautiful location with such an amazingly diverse fishery, what more could I ask for?”

Carson is the owner of the Albemarle Angler in Charlottesville, VA. If he’s not in the shop, he can be found on one of Virginia’s many rivers guiding, leading a hosted trip somewhere around the world, or on the water catching a few himself.
