Capt. Vaughn Podmore

Capt.Vaughn Podmore grew up in Durban, South Africa and started fishing at the young age of three. It’s obvious that fishing became a passion and a way of life for Vaughn, giving the same “stoke” now as it did as a kid. After traveling the world fishing and surfing, in 1989 Vaughn settled down in Huntington Beach, Southern California and has since fished every thing from back bays, beaches, harbors and offshore Islands. Vaughn is constantly fine tuning every element of his SoCal saltwater fly fishing strategy. Even with years of proven success as a fly captain, Vaughn is very humble in his approach and says, “every day is a new day”.

He started guiding in year 2000 and continues to share his passion for the ocean with others from novices to experts and uses his local knowledge to give fly anglers a memorable experience. When not out on his boat he loves to surf, is an avid fly tier and loves all sports.
