Capt. Mike Hennessy is based on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii where he guides his clients to trophy bonefish and other prize species on fly. My new 16′ Action Craft Tournament Series flats boat and Hellsbay flats boat is the key to accessing and targeting Hawaii’s great bonefish. These boats feelss like hover crafts floating over the flats in less than 7″ of water to target some of the world’s biggest and most challenging bonefish. Thanks to Scott Rods, Hatch Reels, Patagonia, and Airflo fly lines for making the best tackle money has to offer. Like my grandpa used to say. “We are too poor to buy the cheap sh#$%&”.

Capt. Mike is also tying some of the most progressive and innovative flies on the market for bonefish, tarpon and permit “COGNAC FLIES”.

Hennessy is also working with the O’io Tagging Program to gather vital information of the life cycles and movements of the resident Bonefish populations and help with sustainable management of the islands marine resources. In addition, he still stalks blue marlin and yellowfin tuna, hoping to catch that double grander (TUTU) I am coming for you!!!

He is forever grateful to his dad, Jim Hennessy, for that first striped marlin in Mexico, and all the great trout fishing adventures when he was a kid, which taught him the fishing and sportsman lifestyle. Capt. Mike Hennessy lives in Lanikai, Hawaii with his family. He has a 100 Ton USCG Captain’s License and is an IGFA Certified Captain. He has been featured on the Outdoor Channel and many publications including, Flyfisher, IGFA world record book, Center Console, Saltwater, and Marlin.
