Captain Eric Wallace brings diverse expertise, extensive knowledge as well as deep passion for the sport of fly & light tackle fishing from the mud and sand flats of Casco Bay & Scarborough Marsh in Portland, Maine area pursuing striped bass in the shallows to the unmatched challenges of the famed flats in the Florida Keys embracing the search for Tarpon, Permit & Bonefish.
Captain Eric’s love of fishing and respect for fisheries, first inspired by his grandfather when he was five years old, became a calling and has developed into a lifelong career. More than 25 years ago, his professional experiences began as a river guide in the Rocky Mountains and throughout the Northwest, including Colorado’s Frying Pan & Roaring Fork, and Pacific NW Steelhead rivers prior to expanding his guide services to Maine & Florida Keys.
In addition to his days on the water where his mission is to bring memorable experience to anglers of all abilities who step on to his flats skiff, Captain Eric shares his time advocating on key fishery issues which he does with a powerful voice informed by his years of experience across the country as well as his day to day observations being on the water.
Captain Eric Wallace is a licensed United States Coast Guard certified captain, Maine Registered Guide and holds the proper licenses to guide in Florida’s Monroe County. He is a member of the Hatch Reels, Thomas and Thomas pro staff and an ambassador for Simms Fishing Products.
Captain Eric lives in Portland, Maine with his twin daughters. When he is not fishing, you will find him windsurfing, surfing or thinking about fishing.
