Bobby Satpal

I have over 18 years of experience in fly fishing, spinning, white water rafting, and kayaking across North India, South India, and Bhutan. I am proud to be an FFI Ambassador in India and the Head Guide & Operations Lead at The Himalayan Outback, India’s premier Mahseer fishing and adventure company.

I am a son of the Himalayan mountains, passionate about fly fishing with both single-handed and double-handed rods, specialising in the mighty Mahseer. I hold three consecutive IGFA Awards for Himalayan Golden Mahseer on fly, and my work in Mahseer fishing and conservation is widely recognised in India.

I have guided famous anglers including River Monsters teams, and I host Yellow Dog Fly Fishing trips in India and Bhutan. I have also won several fishing competitions.

Many royal families in India are now learning fly fishing with me, and I always recommend Hatch reels as the best choice for Mahseer, one of the strongest freshwater fish in the world.
