Fly fishing and fishing has been a one of my passions since I can remember. I have been lucky enough to work as a fly fishing guide and fish on many of Colorado’s fabled rivers over the last twenty years. I now live in New Castle, Colorado with my amazing wife Hilary, daughter Hadley and black lab Hatch. These days most of my time is spent guiding and fishing the lower Colorado and the Gunnison Rivers. I also dabble as a freelance photographer supplying images for prints, fly fishing magazines and fly fishing companies. I currently hold my Colorado guide instructor status, swift water rescue training and CPR & first aid. I am fully licensed, insured and bonded as a Colorado fly fishing outfitter. Colorado River Fly Fishing #608.
Living right on the banks of the Colorado River near New Castle, Colorado gives me the unique opportunity to interact, observe and fish this grand river on a daily basis. With a boat ramp and about a mile of private water in the back yard few get to observe and interact more with this mighty river. Whether you like throwing Streamers, dries or nymphs the Colorado River is a real gem and will leave you smiling. Fishing this large river is best done with a drift boat and I am fortunate to be with one of the best, Stealthcraft. Whether you are an experienced or novice angler I enjoy sharing/teaching my fly fishing and river knowledge with my clients during our days on the water. Give me a call and come float the lower Colorado with me and Colorado River Fly Fishing.
I also guide in the Gunnison Gorge and the lower Gunnison River. The Gunnison Gorge is a two/three day wilderness raft fishing trip where we sleep on the side of the river for a couple nights as we fish and float our way out of this epic canyon. This is a trip that should be on every fly fisherman’s bucket list. The lower Gunnison is more mellow and is just a day float, still amazing fishing just no rapids so we can do in the Stealthcraft. On the Gunnison I work for Black Canyon Anglers which is easily the best outfitters on the Gunnison. Black Canyon Angler’s lodge and cabins are on hundreds of acres set on the banks of the lower Gunnison River. We also have a working fruit farm with miles of private water and meals prepared by our live-in chef - this is truly a unique experience for the whole family. As one of the most experienced guides on the water I would love to show you this amazing river.
