The 3+ is capable of running 3–5 weight lines with ample backing capacity for the occasional whopper that might come along. At first glance you’ll notice this ain’t no dainty trout reel. This little wonder means business.
Proudly made in Southern California, USA.
Each Iconic Reel comes with Reel Pouch and Iconic Cap Wrench.
Not compatible with previous model spools. Anodize color may vary.
I have always wanted a Hatch reel. I have fished with many, many other brands. I had the opportunity to use a friend’s hatch in Mexico this year and basically, game over. Ordered the reel the day after we returned. Thank you for an elegant piece of craftsmanship that I only hope I do justice casting.

I’ve always wanted Hatch to bring back the old 1+ or 2+ models until now. Although I wouldn’t complain if they did a custom run on either a 1+ or a 2+.
I’ve used this 3+ reel on my Winston biiix 386 and a little sage x 376. I thought the reel would be too much weight but I was wrong.
It balances so good I hardly know it’s there.
The new gray color I really like. My favorite color is the all black with white lettering unless Hatch decides to release a new custom color of course.
In addition the quality and toughness of Hatch reels is unmatched.

I am a big person... 6'3" and weigh 305 lbs. I was fishing some new water and slipped... I mean totally airborne, feet above my head and gravity took over and before I knew it my rod and reel were breaking my fall. I felt no pain other than in my heart... I thought for sure that my rod and/or reel were toast. Again, I am a big boned human. Some how (by the grace of the fish gods)the rod was fine (mind blown) the reason the rod was fine was because the Hatch took the full brunt of my massive body slam!
After a quick look I figured the reel was shot, it won't turn and sounded terrible. My soul was crushed, it was like losing your favorite pillow. I have reels from 3 different manufacturers and the Hatch is by far my favorite.
With my heart broken and knee throbbing, I slowly made it back to the truck. Upon further inspection the body of the reel was bent just enough to prevent the spool from spinning. With a beach towel and the side of my truck, I was able to bend it just enough for it to work again! Still some slight grinding but it works!!!!
These reels are tanks, if I can do a full weight body slam on one and have it survive, this makes me a big Hatch fan! You will not regrat adding a Hatch to your quiver!
