Yannick Riviere

I live and guide in the South of France, in de Aude department exactly. Since my youth, I have always worn waders on my quest of all living things adorning fins and scales. The wild trout and the grayling have always fascinated me. This quest has been elevated to another thanks to fly-fishing: the right cast, the right drift and the pure joy of a capture.

In order to progress, I’ve enrolled to the French fly-fishing championship. Step-by-step, I went up the ladder and obtain 8 selections to the French national team. During this period I obtain several top results, including individual vice-European champion in Bosnia along with a bronze medal by team and finally ended-up individual vice world champion in Scotland.

My fascination the fly casting drives me to become a French linear fly casting instructor in 2007, awarded by the French fly fishing federation. I coach regularly team members of the Australian, Belgian national teams along with several competitors from many European countries. It is even on of the Australian team member who gives me one of the best compliments I ever received: “Yannick, you speak bad English but you do speak trout currently”

Perfectionist at heart, I participate to the development of new fly fishing rods models with my partner FishBone Custom Rod. Coupled with the Hatch fly reel, they made fabulous combinations.

I write and participate to several specialized fishing magazines and host a sea fishing TV series which you can find on www.cotepeche.fr

I organize fly-fishing trips throughout Europe with the ‘La Compagnie JP Coudoux’ travel agency.

Environment-conscious and fervent defender of our natural resources, I have been elected since 2 years as the fishing federation administrator of my region.

Along with my wife, we have set-up a fishing lodge in the Aude high valley, so that we can offer fishermen all-in prestations to fish the Aude river. I also guide on the sea and with my wife have a B&B in Gruissan where I propose sea fishing prestations both from the shore and on kayaks.
